Maria Ouzounidis has been involved with Global Eco Adventures (GEA) since 2020. She assists with public relations, planning events such as the annual GEA EcoBall black tie fundraising gala as well as coordinating press events, expeditions, and environmental litter clean ups. In 2024 Maria became a GEA board member.

Maria is passionate about promoting health and wellbeing through outdoor activities. She enjoys fostering community partnerships and planning events for GEA.

Maria received a BA in Journalism & Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina. Maria has experience working both in government and in the private sector. While at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), Maria worked in Legislative Affairs where she was selected to participate in a yearlong in-house talent incubator leadership development program called LEAP (Leadership, Excellence and Achievement Program) and graduated in 2020. Maria is currently employed with the Mullikin Law Firm and works in Public Affairs.
